About the Cruise

Two hours, golden light, and your own drinks. We leave Hilo Bay about an hour and a half before sunset and cruise the East Hawaiʻi coast while the sun drops behind Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. The sky over the Pacific turns pink and orange, and the whole coastline glows.

Bring what you like to drink. Treat the boat like your own floating lanai for the evening. Want food? Add pupus from Hale Kanikapila, a local favorite in downtown Hilo, when you book.

We time every trip to the season, so you are on the water for the best light of the night and back about 30 minutes after the sun goes down.

  • Prone to seasickness? Take medication before the trip, not on the boat.

  • Departure: About 1.5 hours before sunset. We adjust the time through the year, so check your confirmation.

Our captain makes the call before we leave the harbor. If it is not safe, we do not go, and we will work with you to reschedule.
