Description
Open the doors to a whole new world by enrolling in The PADI Open Water Diver Course! The underwater world is filled with beauty, especially on The Big Island of Hawaii. The Hilo side of the island is a hidden paradise! Beautiful coral reefs, tons of vibrant reef fish, Sea turtles galore, and curious octopus wandering through the reefs. We can not guarantee that you will see turtles and octopus; however, the chances are quite high! With the PADI Open Water Diver Certification why stop at Hawaii, it is a life long, global certification after all. You can dive all over the world and enjoy all the underwater wonders this world has to offer. Where better to start your journey than in the warm tropical waters of Hilo!
As one of the only dive centers on the whole island that offers the full open water course, we want to make sure you get the best quality instruction possible! Well taught divers are not only less likely to hurt themselves, but they can preserve the beautiful, but fragile environment bringing life to our oceans! That’s why our training sessions may be long, but it’ll pay off in the end!
Open Water Diver Course Breakdown:

- Once you have completed your eLearning, you may start your Confined Water Training, which can take approximately 8 hours, which includes a swim test consisting of a 200 meter swim without or 300 meter swim with fins, mask, and snorkel .
- Finally, you will get to explore the reefs of Hawaii and will test your dive skills during the 4 Open water dives. You will be doing 2 dives per day over the span of 2 days, each day should be about 6 hours long.
