Paddleboard Rental
See Hilo from the top of a board, on your own schedule. Rent a stand-up paddleboard for an hour and a half or a full week. Every rental comes with a paddle.
Taking it somewhere? Ask for a vehicle mount system. Pick up any time during shop hours. Renters must be 18 or older.

Paddle Smart
Hilo has calm river water and open bay water. On a board, wind matters even more. Know which one you are getting into.
- Start calm. The Wailoa River and Reeds Bay are the most protected water in town.
- Check the wind. Out in the bay, wind picks up in the afternoon. Paddle out against it, so it pushes you home.
- Use a leash and a life jacket. If you fall, your board stays with you.
- Tell someone your plan. Where you are going and when you will be back.
- Give honu space. Stay at least 10 feet away and never touch them.
FAQs
I have never paddleboarded. Should I rent?
Start with our Reeds Bay SUP Lesson. One hour in calm water and you will be ready to rent on your own.
Where should I paddle?
Reeds Bay and the Wailoa River are the calmest water in town. Ask our staff when you pick up and we will point you to the best spot for the day.
Can I take the board somewhere else?
Yes. Ask for a vehicle mount system when you pick up.
When can I pick up?
Any time during shop hours. Online booking may show 9:00 AM, but that is just a default.
What if I damage it?
We inspect every board before and after. You are responsible for damage, and repair or replacement costs may be charged.
