About the Course
Night diving is an exhilarating way to experience Hilo’s reefs. After sunset, the underwater world transforms—revealing creatures and behaviors you can’t see during the day. The PADI Night Diver Specialty Course gives you the skills and confidence to safely explore the ocean after dark.
At night, you may encounter colorful nudibranchs, eels on the hunt, vibrant crabs, lobsters, and even octopus or squid. While sightings can’t be guaranteed, the chances in Hilo are high. This course helps you safely navigate, communicate, and fully enjoy this unique environment.
Course Breakdown
- eLearning: Complete a short online section before training (usually in one day).
- Training Dives: Learn and practice nighttime navigation, light handling, communication, and leading your own night dives.
